This app computes a random-effects meta-analysis of the correlation data in an editable table. It performs bootstrapping for confidence interval estimation and produces plots in real time. Replicates the meta-analysis from Samaha & Romei (2023) Journal of Cognitive Neuroscience.

Use Cases Limitations Evidence Owner's Insight

This app facilitates the computation of random-effects meta-analysis based on the parameters n (sample size) and r (correlation coefficient). It comes prepopulated with data from Samaha & Romei (2023), a meta-analysis correlating individual alpha frequency with temporal properties of perception. Users can manipulate the data directly in the table, adding or deleting rows as needed. Upon any change to the table, the plots and statistics update dynamically. The app also provides a bootstrap analysis to estimate the population correlation and its 95% confidence interval, along with other relevant metrics such as the standard error, Z-statistic, and p-value. This tool is particularly useful for researchers conducting meta-analyses in various fields where correlation analysis is common.
